My name is Jess and I'm a stay at home mom of two little kidlets. Hayden is four and Ava is two. They are actually the whole reason I started crafting. When Hayden was 6 months old, I started scrapbooking, which lasted until he was a year. (lol) I really liked doing it, but had no better place than the floor, which became his territory once he became mobile, not to mention the backache! My scrapbook supplies ended up in the closet of our bedroom and are currently residing in my basement.

One Christmas, I asked my husband for a sewing machine. He was skeptical and thought it would end up packed away, along with all of my scrapbooking supplies. One day, I decided to make Hayden an apron. I came up with my own pattern and added a cupcake on the front. It wasn't exactly pure "boy" but it was scrap fabric that I had to play with and I rolled with it. I had only been sewing about 6 months, which consisted of a few bibs and blankets, so I was excited and showed my friends... who started asking how to buy them. This is how my shop was born.

Even the name of my shop, Butterfly Baby Place, stems from my children and their interactions with each other. I've always tickled them with butterfly kisses and now my son gives his baby sister butterfly kisses, which melts my heart. So when thinking of a name, that image jumped into my head and I went with it.
